DC Ramban reviews preparedness to tackle Covid surge

RAMBAN, Apr 27: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today reviewed preparedness of the various departments to tackle unprecedented surge in Covid positive cases, here at an emergency meeting.
The DC took the stock of implementation of SoPs and health facilities available in all medical blocks and District Hospital Ramban. He also visited Covid Care Centre, Dharmound, Batote to take stock of facilities made by the District Administration to provide medical treatment to Covid positive mild patients.
SSP, Ramban, PD Nitya, ADC, Harbans lal, CMO, Dr. Freed Ahmed Baht, ACD, Zameer Ahmed Rishu, CEO, DPO, Dy. CMO, Medical Superintendent, DH, Ramban, Tehsildars, BDOs, BMOs and various senior officers attended the meeting.
While reviewing the status of home isolation procedure, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CMO to provide all facilities to home isolated patients as recommended by the health dpeartment.
Reviewing the progress on vaccination, the DC directed MS, DH and BMOs to intensify the vaccination and Covid testing in their respective blocks. They were also asked to establish Covid control room in their blocks and flash contact numbers for the convenience of the general public.
The DC directed the concerned officers to effectively mobilize Panchayat level surveillance teams for contract tracing to contain spread of Covid infection especially in rural areas.
The DC directed the SDMs to keep check on positive cases reported in their jurisdiction and recommend eligible areas to be declared as micro containment zones.
The DC directed Tehsildars and BDOs to take PRIs on board to motivate people to take vaccination doses in their nearest Covid vaccination Centres besides sensitizing them to adopt covid appropriate behavior to protect themselves from Covid infection.
Meanwhile, the DC, along with concerned officers visited Covid Care Centre, Dharmound, Batote to take stock of facilities made by the District Administration to provide medical treatment to Covid positive mild patients.
ADC, Harbans Lal, CMO, Dr. Fareed Bhat, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, Sunil Kumar, Tehsildar Batote and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The DC directed EO, MC Batote to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of Covid care centre Dharmound and Dhalwas. He also directed the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti to ensure proper water supply in Covid care centers.
The DC directed PWD department to make sure proper electrification and power backup provision besides maintaining toilets in all blocks for smooth functioning of Covid Care Centre.
The DC directed CMO to stock adequate medical oxygen cylinders, required medicines and depute sufficient medical staff besides ensuring other essential facilities at Covid Care Centres.
He also directed the health functionaries to make available better medical facilities for the patients in these centres besides motivating patients to take all precautionary measures to contain the infection.
