DC Poonch reviews functioning of Health department

POONCH, Apr 29: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the functioning of the Health Department, here at a meeting.
He took a detailed review of the manpower, implementation of the Direct Benefit Schemes of Health Department; audit of capital assets; registration under SEHAT Scheme; alternate Covid action plan; Distribution of immunity boosters among the public and opening of Jan Ashudi Kendras in the district.
Reviewing staff position, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Chief Medical Officers to cancel all the attachments and submit the report to his office.
It was also decided in the meeting that attachment shall be allowed to continue only in case of emergency and salary of staff shall be drawn by the DDOs on receipt of attendance and work and conduct report from the Controlling Officer.
"A comprehensive audit of the capital assets of the Health Department will be done by designated Committee under the overall supervision of CMO and BMO concerned," he added.
The Block Medical Officers were also asked to submit a report about the delay in the completion of buildings including Sub centre Dandi Darra, Sub Centre Nar and Sub centre Arai.
For SEHAT Scheme registration, the DC said that Assistant Director FCS&CA, LDM, DSEO and Khidmat Centres will work as a team so that desired results can be achieved at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the action plan to carry out the OPDs and other emergency surgeries in the Health institutions, if there is an upsurge in the number of Covid positive cases.
The District Tuberculosis Officer was asked to submit an action plan for making Poonch a tuberculosis free district.
The ADMO was directed to distribute the immunity booster panchayat wise in coordination with the PRI's.
The Block Medical officers were asked to convene meeting of ASHAs, ANMs and Anganwadi workers to sensitize them about the Direct Benefit schemes of the Health Department. The team will later create mass awareness among the public about the schemes.
Directions were issued to CMO to make the Jan Ashudi Kendra at Mandi and Mendhar functional within 10 days and remove the bottleneck in making the Jan Ashudi Kendra functional at DH Poonch. The CMO was also directed to finalize the process of engagement of 190 ASHA Workers within a fortnight.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the department to gear up for the Covid vaccination and aggressive Covid sampling.
