4/29/2021 11:40:31 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 29: General Category Peoples’ Front – Jammu (GCPF-J) held its meeting adhering to all the prescribed SOPs of Covid-19 under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of the Front and held deliberations with its Core Committee members.
The issues of General Category were discussed, the members regretted unethical and discriminatory attitude of all political parties towards unreserved categories, who have been ignored and marginalized through partial and appeasement policies since 1950. Banathia cautioned people on emerging Covid-19 situation and urged people to extend support to the authorities in the battle against Corona – Virus and follow SOPs especially use of face-masks besides social gatherings. Speaking on the occasion, Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front alleged that the mainstream political parties had failed to protect the rights to equality and equal opportunities and misused constitutional guarantees promoting casteism and communalism for vested political interest. Basic fundamental rights which could not be removed from the constitution had been denied to the majority by restricting their impartial application. Som Nath Sharma, General Secretary appealed to the L.G. Administration to extend the validity of EWs Certificate to at least for five years. He also pleaded for the formation of State level Hindu Temple Prabhandak Board and district level Temple committees with representative character for the better management of the temples and checking the misuse of religious properties. V.K. Sharma Vice President expressed deep concern over the steep price-rise of essential commodities. The roaring prices had shattered the budget of household; inflation rate had peaked all time and broken all records. Govt. should end real cause of inflation and roaring prices. He demanded defreezing of D.A installments of the 4th class employees and pensioners. He urged upon to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity to the people who are paying heavy charges and taxes to the government. Bansi Lal, Jagdish Dogra, Bhushan Pargal, Deepak Khajurria, Ravi Sahni, Gopal Dass Verma and Surinder Kumar also expressed their views.
