DC Rajouri, DDC member Seri lay foundation stone of Lamberi-Dharat Bridge in Nowshera

RAJOURI, Apr 29: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan and DDC member Seri, Sangeeta Sharma today laid the foundation stone of the much demanded 100 meter span bridge from Dharat to Lamberi.
Among others, BDC Chairperson Seri, Nina Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal; Executive Engineer PWD Nowshera, Prem Kapoor, Sarpanches, Panches and locals were present on the occasion.
Besides the State President BJP, Ravinder Raina was also present on the occasion.
Executive Engineer PWD apprised that the project has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crores and the work on the project would be completed within eighteen months.
It was further apprised that more than 25000 population of adjoining villages like Lamberi, Dandesar, Bagnoti, Rajal, Siot, Dharat, Dabber, Mangaldevi, Gagrote, Kalal, Deing, Seri and Sayal would be benefited with the construction of the said bridge.
It is pertinent to mention here that the bridge was earlier sanctioned under CRF Plan and recently approved under the Languishing plan.
The bridge is also important from a strategic point of view as it would facilitate the movement of the Army and other paramilitary forces during any untoward situation and it connects Nowshera and Sunderbani with the LoC.
The DDC asked the concerned Executive Engineer to execute the work on the project in double shift to ensure completion within set deadline.
The DDC also asked for maintaining quality of work and regular monitoring of the progress on the project.
Meanwhile, the DDC also visited the Model Higher Secondary School Nowshera where he was told that some portion of the existing building would be dismantled and a multi storey building would be constructed there.
He directed the Executive Engineer to prepare a DPR for the construction of the multi storey building and submit the report in this regard.
The DDC also directed the concerned authorities of the School to plant aesthetic plants in the premises of the school and maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation.
DDC also asked the ADC Nowshera to generate massive awareness among the general public about the Juvenile Justice Act and ensure that no Government employee keeps the domestic Servants below the age of 14 yrs.
The DDC also visited to the BDO office Siot and BDO office Lamberi where he interacted with the staff of the RDD and asked them to put in place added efforts to meet the developmental aspirations of the general public in their blocks. He also directed them to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in their offices.
At BDO office Siot which is presently functioning in a Panchayat Ghar, the DDC asked the Block Development Officer to submit a proposal for the construction of a BDO office building adjacent to the Panchayat Ghar.
