Current COVID-19 crisis is everyone’s war: Ashok | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 29: Ashok Kumar, former MLA from Ramban and a senior Congress leader has stressed that the current Covid-19 crisis in our country is everyone’s war and it becomes the responsibility of the every rich, influential class and every aware citizens to take care about the needs of under privileged citizens of India. In a statement issued here he said, “ There are more than 1.3 billion people across the Nation. Government lacks resources to combat with such a huge pandemic which occurs once in a century. Thus, at such a juncture, it becomes imperative for every aware citizen to be accountable and responsible in order to limit the spread of Covid-19 and help each other. Undoubtedly, it is a herculean task as government has been failed already to save many innocent lives due to poor planning in post- First wave covid-19. Ashok has also expressed serious concerns about the last month vaccine Diplomacy of Government of India. It is a blunder for government to give away 66 million vaccines to countries across the world without securing supplies for their own people. He said that the next two years will be difficult from policy makers to every citizens. Primarily, it is duty of government of India to assist every state and Union territory to combat infectious disease without any prejudices. Ashok further cautioned the Government of India that the vaccination for every citizens below 45 and above 18 years is a herculean task as large bunch of Indian population falls under this band. He said in the face of unrestricted private vaccination drive and deteriorating services of government hospitals, the poor common people might be confronted with uncontrolled vaccine prices In coming future. Moreover, at such juncture, rich corporates, religious and quasi-religious entities must open their reserves and serve lowest strata using donations. |
