Jammu, May 5: A mental health webinar on EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE was organised by Manodarpan Psychology and Career Counseling Cell of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce on May 5th, 2021 at 04:00 pm. Prof. R.S. Jamwal, the principal formally welcomed the Keynote speakers and the participants. He appreciated the effort of Manodarpan Cell of rhe college for organizing such webinars in the interest of the students. He divulged at length the various activities and programmes conducted under the aegis of the Manodarpan Cell of the college. While Prof. Archana Kaul, Convener of the Counseling Cell introduced the keynote speaker as well as the guest of honor and thanked Prof. R.S. Jamwal, the principal and chief guest for being the leader to show the way for productive organising of the webinar. Mr. V K Singh, IPS, DGP Prisons, J&K was the key note speaker. His deliberated in detail about Resilience as the ability to bounce back and together with five tips of Strong social network, Optimistic approach, Nurturing of body and mind and Gratitude helps inculcate Emotional Resilience as a skill which is acquired over time. The important step is awareness and to manage the situations. He further explained that Impulsivity is the problem, and deferred gratification is the solution. He urged the students to have within them the elasticity of a rubber band, however far you stretch it will always come back to its original position. Mr. Rajeev Bhadauria, CEO, Ebullient and My Transform was the Guest of Honour for the webinar.
