BJP divided on taking any 'hasty' action against Randhawa | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 5: Even as disciplinary committee of J&K BJP has served a show-cause notice to the party’s former MLC and UT secretary Vikram Randhawa for his outburst against Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the party is divided on the issue of taking action against Randhawa without proper investigation. A group within the party has made it clear that any hasty decision without proper investigation would prove counterproductive for the party because residents of Jammu are already facing hardship due to ‘mining mafia’. Reliable sources said that some senior leaders of the party have cautioned party leadership against taking any action Randhawa at this point of time. “Senior leaders have made it clear to the party leadership that there is strong anger among people of Jammu against the non-availability of building materials on genuine rates”, sources said and added that this group has informed that during the last year middle class was facing getting building material on genuine rates due to ‘mining mafia’ which is hand-in-glove with some officers. Sources said that Randhawa’s outburst is likely to fuel infighting within the party because a group within the party is waiting for the appropriate opportunity to express their anger. “Most of the senior leaders are sidelined by the party so these sulking leaders are likely to avail this opportunity to flex their muscles”, sources said, adding, “these annoyed leaders have already forwarded allegations of Randhawa to their political mentors at Delhi” |
