Early Times Report

Kalakote, May 6: Literary and Red cross club of GDC Kalakote today organized online awareness camp on the topic, “Covid-19, lockdown, Education and Examination” in commemoration to, “ Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, India has witnessed a massive surge of cases in the past few weeks which have created a panic situation across the country. The second wave of Covid infections has put India in a bind with the Centre and state doubling down efforts to bring the worrying situation under control.
With cases rising continuously, and rapidly, the pandemic appears to be a bigger threat now than it did during the first wave. While the country is battling with this situation many people had come forward to help each other in the time of crisis. Moreover, in times of crisis, when people are doing something positive it does make people feel a little bit calmer and more in control.
Also creating awareness among masses and spreading positivity is the need of the hour and it was in this context that GDC Kalakote organized this awareness campaign to aware students about the whole situation and the different aspects of the crisis. Speaking on the event, through an online platform, Principal GDC Kalakote,. Romesh Kumar Gupta, discussed in detail about COVID-19, its effect and prevention and the how lockdown has helped us break the chain during the first wave though it came with its own negative effects. He further added that during this testing time we all need to keep our head strong and fight back with all our might.
Also, he talked at length about the impact of this Pandemic on education and said the no doubt, the present situation has adversely affected the whole process of inculcating education, but it has also given us the chance to explore the online platforms which has actually made the students and teachers connectivity way more stronger.
Talking about the online examination, Gupta explained in detail how the whole process will be conducted in a planned manner and advised the students to get their doubts clear by taking help from their teachers telephonically so that the online open book examination can be conducted smoothly which are going to start from 19th of May, 2021. At last he acknowledged the efforts of the organizing committee and congratulated them for keeping students engaged in such activities in this time of Pandemic. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Marve Sofi through online platform.
