Kishtwar, May 6: The security forces in Doda District thwart a major terror bid by busting a terror hideout in remote Jodhpur area of the District and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the said terror hideout.
As per the details available with Early Times, continuing with their persistent operations to keep Doda district safe and sanitised from terrorists as well as their support infrastructure, Jammu kashmir Police and Territorial Army busted a hideout containing huge war like stores in it's remote chookyan Jodhpur area.
The sources told the Early Times that acting on specific information, police and Territorial Army Thursday afternoon launched a search operation in Forest area of Chookyan and recovered arms and ammunition from a hideout concealed inside a natural cave. During the search of the hideout the security forces found 4 Detonators, 12 V Battery, 50 meters Electric wire, six 1.5 Volt Big cells, Two pressure cookers of 5 litres each filled with RDX, 2 Pipe bombs about 5 kg with RDX filled in each pipe, one Black tape and RDX were recovered from the spot.
The operation was launched jointly by the Police and Territorial Army of Doda.
The joint parties cordoned off the area and carried out a meticulous search during which they succeeded in locating the natural hideout of terrorists, which seemingly was hidden by militants who earlier operated in the area and were eliminated many years back.
A major tragedy has been averted by District Police and Territorial army by busting such a huge hideout in the District.
