G&M Deptt should clear stand on corruption charge leveled by Randhawa against DMO: UDA | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: Convenor, United Democratic Alliance, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajiv Mahajan asked officials of Geology and Mining Department Jammu and Kashmir to clear their stand on the corruption allegation raised by former Member of Legislative Council Vikram Randhawa during a press conference recently. According to Randhawa, Rajiv Mahajan said, for the last three years as per construction works revenue of around Rs 300 to 400 crore will be earned by the government but only Rs 6 crore deposited as revenue. Rajiv Mahajan asked G&M Department officials to clear the stand of the pending account out of Rs 400 crore as said by Randhawa in a press conference. He said the Government purchased a large number of cement bags from outside the J&K accordingly after checking at Lakahnpur Toll Post during the construction works in the year 2014-17 and after 2017-20. He also asked G&M Department officials to clear publically within 24 hours the amount of royalty on materials like sand, Bajri and stone along with payment of cement bags used by the department for the years 2014-17 and 2017-2020 for construction works of various projects. He asked the government to make a statement publically within 24 hours in order to calm down the situation and take action against culprits indulging in corruption be it Vikram Randhawa or DMO, Mining Department.
