Srinagar, May 14: Security forces on Friday launched Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at different places in south Kashmir, official sources said. They said following specific information about the presence of militants, a joint CASO was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police, Army and CRPF in two villages – Paneer and Satoora – of Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. “Security forces were conducting door-to-door searches in the villages,” they said, adding searches were also going in nearby fields and orchards. They said CASO was also underway in village Zainpora in south Kashmir district of Shopian following inputs about the presence of militants. “Joint teams of SOG and Army were conducting door-to-door searches in the village,” they said. They said operation was also underway in the fields and orchards adjoining to the village. “So far no contact has been established with militants,” they added.
