Early Times Report

Jammu, May 14: A few days after a Bharatiya Janta Party leader from Jammu leveled serious allegations against his senior colleague in the central government, the BJP leadership in Kashmir has questioned the government over other issues.
The Kashmir chapter of the BJP has suddenly reacted against government over lockdown, when the Jammu leaders have called for an inquiry into allegations of corruption.
In a handout the BJP leaders said “People of Kashmir are confused about implementation of lockdown because it is not applicable on ground” adding that the “administration has failed to contain the virus at all ends.”
Party’s Kashmir Media In-charge and youth leader Manzoor Bhat in a statement said, “People are confused about lockdown, nor administration is doing anything to implement it on the ground and police has also become mute spectator on the issue.”
He urged LG administration, either to impose a strict lockdown or lift all the restrictions in Kashmir. “Passenger vehicles are openly violating the Covid19 guidelines and while lockdown has been only restricted to the closing of shops,” he added.
The BJP leader said there should be some result of imposing the lockdown; otherwise, it is just a routine exercise as cases are increasing each passing day.
Both police and administration should look into this issue and otherwise lift restrictions from all quarters.
It is for the first time that BJP leaders have questioned the government of Jammu and Kashmir so publicly.
The statement from the BJP leadership in Kashmir came a few days after a senior BJP leader had accused a top BJP leader and some officials of resorting to corruption.
Though the BJP leadership in Jammu claimed to have filed a defamation suit against the “rebel”, the party initially failed from taking any disciplinary action against him.
Of late, the BJP leaders of the JK chapter don’t seem to be happy with the administration and some of them have been speaking against the ruling dispensation.
