SRINAGAR, May 14: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir saw slight dip in fresh COVID-19 cases as 3,027 new cases were reported today following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 36,790. With 60 fresh deaths being reported in the past 24 hours the death toll due to the virus reached 3,027. Jammu district reported 534 new cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 379 cases, Budgam district 308 cases, Udhampur district 221 cases, Kathua district 197 cases, Pulwama district 167 cases, Samba district 154 cases, Kupwara district 140 cases, Rajouri district 138 cases, Baramulla district 124 cases, Bandipora district 100 cases, Ganderbal district 98 cases, Anantnag district 97 cases, Kulgam district 72 cases, Reasi district 66 cases, Poonch district 61 cases, Ramban district 52 cases, Kishtwar district 48 cases, Doda district 40 cases and Shopian district 31 cases. Jammu district reported 22 fresh deaths followed by Srinagar district five deaths, Udhampur and Poonch districts four deaths each, Kathua, Samba, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Anantnag districts three deaths each, Ramban, Pulwama and Kulgam districts two deaths each and Doda, Budgam, Bandipora & Ganderbal districts one death each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration informed that 3,027 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 1,511 from Jammu division and 1,516 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 36,790. Also 60 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 39 from Jammu division and 21 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 3,814 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,063 from Jammu division and 2,751 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 36,790 positive cases, 52,001 are active positive, 1, 81,762 have recovered and 3,027 have died; 1,371in Jammu division and 1,656 in Kashmir division. Out of 78, 50,973 test results available, 76, 14,183 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 19, 50,539 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 71,854 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 52,001 in isolation and 1, 19,379 in home surveillance. Besides, 17, 04,278 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 56,795 positive cases, 9,813 active positive, 46,326 recovered, 656 deaths; Baramulla has 17,657 positive cases, 3,877 active positive, 13,562 recovered, 218 deaths; Budgam has 15,440 positive cases, 4,144 active positive, 11,148 recovered, 148 deaths; Anantnag district has 11,160 positive cases, 4,018 active positive, 7,010 recovered, 132 deaths; Pulwama has 10,175 positive cases, 2,443 active positive, 7,601 recovered, 131 deaths. “Kupwara has 9,114 positive cases, 1,784 active positive, 7,215 recovered, 115 deaths; Kulgam has 7,372 positive cases, 3,295 active positive, 4,000 recovered, 77 deaths; Ganderbal has 6,736 positive cases, 1,137 active positive, 5,537 recovered, 62 deaths; Bandipora has 6,717 positive cases, 898 active positive, 5,746 recovered, 73 deaths and Shopian has 4,347 positive cases, 1237 active positive, 3,066 recovered, 44 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 42,976 positive cases, 7,693 active positive, 34,503 recovered, 780 deaths; Udhampur has 8,487 positive cases, 1,528 active positive, 6,868 recovered, 91 deaths; Rajouri has 7,589 positive cases, 3,124 active positive, 4,351 recovered, 114 deaths; Kathua has 6,967 positive cases, 1,577 active positive, 5,299 recovered, 91 deaths; Samba has 5,357 positive cases, 1,821 active positive, 3,456 recovered, 80 deaths. “Doda has 4,559 positive cases, 811 active positive, 3,675 recovered, 73 deaths; Reasi has 4,349 positive cases, 670 active positive, 3,657 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 4,019 positive cases, 1,039 active positive, 2,925 recovered, 55 deaths; Ramban has 3,513 positive cases, 718 active positive, 2,756 recovered, 39 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,461 positive cases, 374 active positive, 3,061 recovered, 26 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 36,790 positive cases, 20,842 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
