KPC demands cashless treatment for Covid patients, enhanced relief to displaced KPs

JAMMU, May 14: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has appreciated and supported the overall steps being taken by central and Union Territory Governments to defeat the ongoing challenge of Covid-19, especially J&K government’s helping hand to those who lost their kith and kin in the pandemic, special pension to senior citizens, who last their earning member and other measures.
But at the same time KPC expressed disappointment for ignoring the vital and long pending issues of resource-less displaced KP families languishing in camps and rented accommodations at Jammu, Delhi and other places which mainly include enhancement of monthly relief as well as financial assistance to unemployed and overage displaced youths who are passing through a very difficult phase.
President KPC, Kundan Kashmiri and Vice President KPC, Tej Pandita stated that the whole hapless displaced community is desperately looking towards the government for help as at one hand they are fighting with Covid-19 at the other hand financial crunch and other hardships.
KPC Chief further stated that the government and its administration is also requested to ensure the cashless treatment of displaced KP Covid patients in all hospitals, supply of ration to all ration card holders of displaced KPs on priority, timely release of monthly relief as well as pension to pensioners of displaced KP families, oxygen cylinders and medicines to home quarantine KP patients. Besides, other welfare schemes to be implemented and released to them at all locations they are residing at present in the country. KPC also appealed that the sanitization and fumigation in camp areas of Jammu which include Jagti Township, Nagrota, Muthi, Purkhoo and other KP dominated localities to be make on priority and gathering of outsiders and insiders in the camps to be minimized, checked and avoided.
Other KPC leaders which include Dr HL Saraf, MK Raina, Susheel Ji Bhat and RL Raina also endorsed these demands.
