JAMMU, May 14: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has sought preference for vaccination to shopkeepers, Rehri Wallas and other similar traders who fall in a high risk category due to their coming in direct contact on a daily basis with large number of consumers visiting their establishments for purchasing various items.
The senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta voiced this demand after taking stock of the problems being faced by the shopkeepers and Rehri Wallas during his meeting with them here today.
Flanked by former Minister Sunil Sharma and Arvind Gupta, the former Deputy Chief Minister later addressing media persons explained the reasons that necessitate the vaccination of aforesaid categories and said that BJP has already constituted teams in every district for proper vaccination of people against Coronavirus besides having launched a Helpline service for the welfare of people during the prevailing crisis situation.
He said that BJP is making all efforts to deal with the unprecedented situation by providing all possible help including the holding of testing camps, medical camps, etc to augment the government’s initiatives. He assured that very soon the vaccines will be administered to all the people in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
While enumerating the Government initiatives to address the crisis, Kavinder Gupta reiterated that the Union Territory administration is leaving no stone unturned to provide succour to those affected by the pandemic. He asserted that the biggest priority today is to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, former minister Sunil Sharma said that the BJP stands committed to provide vaccination to one and all including the people in the remote hilly areas.
