Travesty of electricity cuts, J&K stand loser all time: AAP
5/14/2021 11:37:30 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 14: The Aam Aadmi Party, J&K, Jammu, commenting on irregular and unscheduled cuts in supply of electricity in Jammu province, in a press release issued here, have expressed great wonder and dismay over the erratic supply of electricity in entire Jammu Province be it winter chilly season or hot perspiring Summer as a result people in general have become used to such unwanted cuts and that there is no use to cry or agitate against it because there is none to take cognizance be it so called popular government of traditional political Parties or the present dispensation under LG. being directly remote controlled from New Delhi.
As per release issued here, the AAP said that at present three Mega Hydel Projects namely (i) Salal Hydel Project generating 690 Mega watts (ii) Baghliar Hydel Project 900 MWs and (iii) Dul-Hasti Hydel Project with 650 MW capacity are generating power to the extent of approximately 2250 MWS and as per reliable sources major share of this generation is being credited to Northern grid for onward distribution among Northern states of India leaving the main power generating Province in dark & dingy state of affairs like primitive days of the mankind, the release said & maintained that such situations in which the rich resources of one region are recklessly drained and passed on to another region with ulterior political consideration, leaving the parent region high & dry and people to suffer for no fault, then it is natural to give birth to discontentment and bad feelings against the ruling class, whosoever it may be.
The release further added that heart burning becomes more severe when people come to know that around Rs. 3000 crores goes to government coffers annually on account of cost of electricity generated through these three Mega Hydel projects and in return get lolly pops through jumla announcements. The AAP Jammu has therefore urged upon the U.T. administration particularly LG to read between the lines & feel the pulse of time & people of Jammu who are already fed up & irked over unprecedented price rise of essential commodities, diesel & petrol, un-employment, sand, bajri & stones, installing of money looting machines- the toll plazas and utter failure on health front in handling COVID-19.
