Jammu, May 14: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah in collaboration with local teachers and social workers on Friday conducted an exhaustive drive to sanitize all important public places, including banks and markets, to contain the spread of deadly virus. The drive was conceptualized by the Programme Officer NSS Dr Sunil Sharma under the close supervision and guidance of the Principal GDC Jindrah, Professor Rajshree Dhar. During the drive, the NSS wing of the college, local teachers and social workers sanitized the premises of J&K Bank, Grameen Bank, Primary Health Centre (PHC), Goushala, Niabat, Government Higher Secondary School, Chemist shops, local market and cremation ground. They created awareness among the local people about the importance of social distancing, continuous wearing of masks and risk of unnecessary outside movement. They called upon the people not to venture out of their homes until and unless it is utmost necessary as it would help in containing the spread of the deadly disease. The Programme Officer, Dr Sunil Sharma informed that various activities would be conducted during the week-long drive starting today. Those who actively participated in the drive were Sanjay Sharma and Vishal Dev Singh Jamwal, both teachers; Social workers Maheswar Singh Jamwal and Ravi Sharma. |
