Early Times Report

Jammu, May 17: Ashok Kumar, former MLA from Ramban and a senior Congress leader has led a silent protest against the BJP government and urged upon the Government of India to Roll back the order of hike in prices of Petrol and Diesel as the common man has already in slumber with covid-19 pandemic. The recent pandemic has further reduced the Income of marginal section of People. On the contrary, Central government is deliberately increasing the prices of petrol and diesel further creating a financial burden on the millions of people across the country. Ashok has further stated that the recent hike in fuel prices has affected the financial budget of every common man as our societies are completely dependent on the fuel on everyday basis. This will trigger an inflation in all essential commodities, especially in far flung areas due to increase in transport charges. Kumar claimed that this is the third consecutive increase in hike of fuel in this week and seventh hike since may. He said that the prices increase led to petrol rate crossing ₹100 across many states and diesel prices are also touching to 100. In such a crisis, the responsibility of Central Government is to provide financial packages to those marginalised people however, the government is imposing burden on the middle class by increasing prices of petrol and diesel day by day. This is creating more financial difficulties for citizens.
