Raj Bhawan’s Covid kits scheme helps J&K people

Jammu, May 17: Even as many were finding it hard to afford to treatment for the Covid-19, the distribution of free Covid kits has come as a major relief for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In its war against CoronaVirus, Jammu and Kashmir Government has start distributing COVID kits to positive patients from across the Union Territory.
As per the Twitter Handle of the Directorate of Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, COVID kit to be distributed amongst all those testing COVID positive in J&K.
The distribution which commenced May 9 offers Covid kits which consists of Oximeter, Medicine set, Paracetamol, Cough/throat medicine, an antiviral like Ivermectin, an antibiotic, Zinc + vitamin (zincovit).
Till now people had to spend huge money on medication and aids like oxymeter and it would be difficult for the economically downtrodden to afford the same.
“There are families which earn mere rupees two thousand or even less a month and buying medicines and oxymeter was something impossible for them, but now government scheme has come as a blessing,” said a economist keeping track on the developments. A poor laborer said he would not have been able to buy medicines or the oxymeter for the infected in his family but that government has made things easy for them.
It is pertinent to mention that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is personally monitoring the situation on multiple fronts and has been working relentlessly to provide succor to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Apart from keeping direct contact with the official machinery, he has been taking feedback from the experts especially those from the medical field.
In line with the evolving situation, he also has been in touch with the Indian Army, which is coordinating with the government of the Union Territory.
