JAMMU, May 17: To intensify ongoing sanitation drives for containing spread of deadly Coronavirus, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor along with Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor and Narinder Singh Jamwal, Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Standing Committee JMC today conducted an extensive tour of Nehru Market, Ware House area of Ward No 19 and got the whole markets properly sanitized with Sodium Hypo-Chloride solutions by putting available men and machinery. Deepak Gupta President along with other members of Ware House-Nehru Market Association, Dr. Sanjogita Sudan Health Officer, Harvinder Singh Chief Transport Officer, Parshotam Kumar, Transport Officer, Rajinder Kumar Sanitation Officer and other field staff of Health & Transport Section were also accompanied the Mayor during the drive. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that JMC has already undertaken sanitation, fumigation, thermal fogging & spraying on war footing basis especially at micro containment zones, markets, cremation grounds and other places, with the active support of all the Councillors, Commissioner JMC, Sanitation Staff and Safaikaramcharis to avoid spread of Covid-19. He further told that daily sanitization is also being conducted in the commercial areas where people visits in large numbers under the overall supervision of Dr Sanjogita Sudan Health Officer JMC and JMC shall continue the sanitization drives in micro containment zones and other prominent places of the city to stop the corona spread and also appeal to the public at large to follow the guidelines being issued by the Govt. with regard to the pandemic in letter & spirit and asked the people to stay at home, avoid large gatherings at public places and make use of alcohol based hand sanitizers, wear face masks as preventive measures to do away with this menace and to cooperate with JMC. |
