Traitors have no place in New India
5/18/2021 12:18:15 AM
Former J&K chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has once again tried to stoke a controversy by alleging that separatist Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai due to “inadequate” medical treatment.
She has once again proven her separatist leanings. It seems she has forgotten that more than 300 patients died at GMC Jammu during the past few days due to COVID-19. She didn’t show any sympathy towards them, nor did she condole anyone’s demise.
“PSA is GOI’s go to method for every problem. Latest example being Ashraf Sehrai’s sons who lost their father in custody due to inadequate medical care & have been arrested under PSA. In the rest of India dead are being ill-treated but in Kashmir its living who are made to suffer”, Mehbooba had written on twitter.
It appears that Mehbooba is unhappy in India and she is feeling suffocated? If it’s so she should give up her security and move to a country where she can feel comfortable. “Kashmir is an open air prison where people’s thoughts are being monitored & they are punished for it. There is no outlet left to express one’s opinion & this is a deliberate attempt to push Kashmiris to the wall,” she had written in another tweet.
The PDP president seems to have lost it all. Her party stands decimated. All her close lieutenants have deserted her. A youth leader of PDP has been jailed for his alleged involvement in a terror funding case and she too is under scanner. One can understand Mehbooba’s desperation but she needs to understand that she cannot defame the country that has given her everything. Her statements indicate that she wants to quit the mainstream camp and wants to become the voice of adversaries in Kashmir. But she needs to be reminded that India has changed and its “New India” if a person cannot be loyal to the country then he has no right to stay in the country. There is no place for traitors in the country and they have to be dealt with sternly.
It’s high time for Mehbooba to decide what she wants. If she is so unhappy with India, she should take a honourable exit from the country. After August 5, 2019 Kashmir’s political scenario has changed and J&K has merged completely with the Union of India. Leaders, who are finding it difficult to accept the change in status-quo should quit politics and stay away from the issues which don’t fall in their domain. If they keep on raking unnecessary controversies they should be dealt with according to the law of the land.
