JAMMU, May 17: Launching ‘TEEKA LAGAO, CORONA BHAGAO’ campaign across Jammu Division, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today exhorted the cadre to facilitate registration of eligible segments of the people for vaccination, especially in view of the pandemic spreading in rural landscape. “As many among us in the rural and far off places are not tech savvy or lack the facilities of smart phones with dedicated internet facilities, they are to be assisted in getting registered on Cowin App for jabs at the earliest available slots”, Rana said in an exclusive interaction on virtual mode with the National Conference Chairpersons and Members of the District Development Councils this evening. Asserting that ‘TEEKA LAGAO, CORONA BHAGAO’ should be the motivating force for volunteers while reaching out to the targeted people through whatever mode of communication Rana hoped that each worker and office bearer would seek registration of at least 50 persons in their areas. The mobilization has to be in a missionary spirit without cast, creed, religion on party affiliation, as this is service to humanity. “We are amid most challenging times and can win over the deadliest pandemic by adopting a collective approach and fighting the virus by inoculation that is the only solution to remain safe from the infection”, Rana said and hoped that the administration will make all out efforts to procure vaccines for coverage of all categories in all the areas. This is the time when each one should cooperate with the government and lend a helping hand to the frontline warriors who are engaged in saving lives by risking their own lives, he added. The Provincial President said that alongside motivating and facilitating the people in registration, the cadre will also launch an awareness campaign about do’s and don’ts by observing to COVID appropriate behavior. Any complacency or laxity will cost lives and therefore the imperative of observing the guidelines has to be reinforced by the public representatives. He also cautioned the councilors and chairpersons to avoid visiting the health institutions as this could hamper the working of the frontline warriors and instead lending a helping hand to the needy families grappling with the virus in terms of moral and material support. Rana also saluted the frontline warriors in hospitals, on roads and active in arranging supplies besides police and security personnel for their heroic contribution in steering out the people from this difficult phase. Their huge role is leaving an indelible mark on the public psyche and this spirit will get further substantiated by ensuring best possible assistance to patients, he maintained. |
