Srinagar, May 19: As many as 100 State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and 40 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel will be trained to assist as support staff in a 200 bedded COVID care centre that will be commence from June 1 in the summer capital, Srinagar. An official spokesperson said that a meeting was chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), Commandant General Home Guards/ Civil Defence and SDRF, Srinagar, V K Singh with regard to deployment of SDRF personnel and NDRF personnel to assist in functioning of 200-Beded Covid Care Centre, including 50 beds with Oxygen Concentrators, at NIT Complex Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal, Srinagar. “During the meeting it was decided that S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura will arrange three days training between Wednesday and Friday at SKIMS in batches of 30 personnel (20 SDRF and 10 NDRF) for performing supporting duties,” he said. “The training will include Components of Covid-19 patient care, Nursing Care of Covid positive patients in the wards, Rapid Antigen Testing-Infection control and personal protection, Oxygen Support - Practical Issues, Visit to Manifold (Hands on Training) and Donning and doffing of PPE (Hands on training),” he said. He said a total of 100 SDRF and 40 NDRF personnel shall be trained in batches and deployed at NIT with full PPE. “During the meeting, all issues relating to facilities, logistic support, including oxygen concentrator and other assistance to make the proposed 200-bedded COVID Care Centre at NIT Complex Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal, Srinagar fully functional were discussed,” he said. He said additional doctors and other resources will be mobilized by Director Health Services Kashmir, adding the proposed COVID care centre shall start functioning from June 1 under close supervision and guidance of the administration of SKIMS Soura. |
