DAJ to observe June 1 as ‘Black Day’ in protest against Ramdev’s statements
5/30/2021 10:49:55 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 30: Doctors Association Jammu will hold statewide black day protest while bearing black bandages on June 1 without hampering the patient care to voice their protest against statements of baba Ramdev against corona warriors and modern medicine .
President of doctors association Jammu Dr Balvinder singh said that recent comments by Ramdev that thousand doctors have died even after getting the double dose of vaccines. What kind of doctors are they if they could not save themselves? has hurt entire medical fraternity of this country .
The statement of Ramdev at a time when frontline Health care workers are waging a war against an invisible enemy, to utter such irresponsible & callous statements is highly condemnable.
Ever since WHO declared Covid-19 a global pandemic, it was the frontline HCWs who took up the challenge of meeting this killer invisible enemy head on, without caring for their own safety or of their family. But issuing such vitriolic & hateful statements against frontline Health workers mocks them & their sacrifice. Thousands of frontline HCWs have perished in this pandemic, instead of showing gratitude towards them, Ramdev was seen mocking them in the most shallow perverse manner.
General Secretary of doctors association Jammu Dr. Manjeet Singh said the battle against SARS CoV2 pandemic has been led by none other than our PM, it was he who celebrated the efforts & sacrifice of frontline Health care workers by asking Indians to clap & light diyas last year.
The guidelines for Covid-19 treatment have been issued time to time by MoHFW & ICMR. By challenging the treatment guidelines, Ramdev has raised a question mark on this Govt led by PM Modi & other government bodies itself. It is the job of Govt, MoHFW & ICMR to take him on & make him face the full force of law.
DAJ has appealed lieutenant governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj sinha to instruct state government to take necessary action against Ramdev .He should face the consequences of his irresponsible & despicable public statements.
