SRINAGAR, May 30: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 85.62 percent as 3,805 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours or so. The union territory reported 2,256 new infections following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 88,940; with 29 fresh deaths the death toll reached 3,870. Srinagar district reported 350 new cases followed by Jammu district 339 cases, Ganderbal district 190 cases, Budgam district 170 cases, Baramulla district 164 cases, Anantnag district 154 cases, Pulwama district 140 cases, Kulgam district 96 cases, Rajouri district 92 cases, Kupwara and Doda districts 77 cases each, Poonch district 69 cases, Bandipora district 67 cases, Ramban district 66 cases, Udhampur district 65 cases, Reasi district 42 cases, Kathua district 32 cases, Samba and Shopian districts 25 cases each and Kishtwar district 16 cases. Jammu district reported 12 fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by Rajouri and Kulgam districts three deaths each, Udhampur, Ramban, Srinagar and Kupwara districts two deaths each and Samba, Budgam & Shopian districts one death each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 2,256 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 823 from Jammu division and 1,433 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 88,940. Also 29 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 20 from Jammu division and nine from Kashmir division. Moreover, 3,805 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,454 from Jammu division and 2,351 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 88,940 positive cases, 37,677 are active positive, 2, 47,393 have recovered and 3,870 have died; 1,888 in Jammu division and 1,982 in Kashmir division. Out of 85, 33,925 test results available, 82, 44,985 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 85,885 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 79,758 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 37,677 in isolation and 1, 44,876in home surveillance. Besides, 18, 19,704 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 64,910 positive cases, 4,754 active positive, 59,390 recovered, 766 deaths; Baramulla has 21,225 positive cases, 2,757 active positive, 18,210 recovered, 258 deaths; Budgam has 20,115 positive cases, 2,463 active positive, 17,475 recovered, 177 deaths; Anantnag has 14,465 positive cases, 3,921 active positive, 10,383 recovered, 161 deaths; Pulwama has 12,979 positive cases, 2,271 active positive, 10,542 recovered, 166 deaths. “Kupwara has 11,856 positive cases, 1,885 active positive, 9,829 recovered, 142 deaths; Kulgam has 9,812 positive cases, 1,797 active positive, 7,916 recovered, 99 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,698 positive cases, 1,333 active positive, 7,297 recovered, 68 deaths; Bandipora has 8,402 positive cases, 977 active positive, 7,335 recovered, 90 deaths and Shopian has 5,276 positive cases, 1162 active positive, 4,059 recovered, 55 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 50,397 positive cases, 5,836 active positive, 43,506 recovered, 1055 deaths; Udhampur has 10,562 positive cases, 766 active positive, 9,674 recovered, 122 deaths; Rajouri has 9,638 positive cases, 1,774 active positive, 7,681 recovered, 183 deaths; Kathua has 8,742 positive cases, 561 active positive, 8,051 recovered, 130 deaths; Samba has 6,725 positive cases, 1,345 active positive, 5,269 recovered, 111 deaths. “Doda has 5,647 positive cases, 1,197 active positive, 4,362 recovered, 88 deaths; Reasi has 5,286 positive cases, 560 active positive, 4,690 recovered, 36 deaths; Poonch has 5,178 positive cases, 1,080 active positive, 4,020 recovered, 78 deaths; Ramban has 5,052 positive cases, 961 active positive, 4,040 recovered, 51 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,975 positive cases, 277 active positive, 3,664 recovered, 34 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 88,940 positive cases, 21,546 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
