Rodents in Gynaecology Ward of District Hospital Kishtwar roam at will | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, May 30: As on one hand side the people are battling to keep COVID 19 at bay in hospitals, the patients and their attendants at District hospital Kishtwar are facing problems due to rodents that roam at will inside the Gynecology ward at District Hospital Kishtwar. Speaking to Early Times, the attendants of the patients informed that the rodents had become a major headache for the patients admitted in the adding that the rodents destroyed their eatables and food kept for the patients. “It is difficult to arrange food in hospital at the time when hotels are closed — we weren’t able to go home due to strict lockdown outside and inside it was rodents who destroyed the food and eatables” said a patient. Another attendant said that the rodents keep shifting from ward to ward and called upon the authorities to look into the matter. A senior official in the health department said that hospital authorities are regularly using anti rodent techniques and medicines to keep them at bay added that necessary exercise is being carried out after regular intervals. “This is not new- rodents nurture in and around every hospital— proper SOPs are being followed to tranquilized the rodents which is a continuous process throughout the year” said the official added that they have not received any rodent byte case inside the hospital premises.
