Srinagar, May 30: Police on Sunday claimed to have identified militants responsible for the killing of two youth in south Kashmir district of Anantnag last night. A police spokesperson said that justice to bereaved families shall be delivered soon. “Militants involved in the double murder have been identified. Our heart goes out to the families of innocent victims,” Kashmir police wrote on its official twitter handle. An official said that militants fired at two civilians -- identified as 35-year old dentist Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat and 20-year-old Sanjeed Ahmad Parray – at Jablipora in Bijbehara at around 2005 hrs on Saturday. “The injured were immediately taken to a hospital, where they succumbed,” they said. They said the gunmen managed to escape from the spot under the cover of darkness. “Police had registered a case and initiated investigation to identify the accused,” they said, adding after following various leads police has able to identify the militants responsible for the killing of the youth.
