HDF employees hold protest, demand regularization
6/5/2021 12:03:57 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 4: Employees of Sub-District Hospital Akhnoor engaged under the Hospital Development Fund (HDF) today staged a protest demanding regularization and for hike in their salaries. The HDF employees of the Health Department assembled at Sub-District Hospital Akhnoor premises and started massive sloganeering in favour of their demands including regularisation and hike in wages. The employees including females were shouting ‘we want justice’ and sought immediate redressal of their grievances.
Sanjay Sharma while addressing media said that we are the frontline workers and come in direct contact with the COVID patients at the hospital, but nobody bothered about us; we are exposed to greater risk there and amid that, we have been forced, compelled to come here to protest, otherwise we didn’t want that. He said that last month LG Manoj Sinha led LG administration had announced various incentives for various health workers but it’s very unfortunate that LG Administration forgot the Hospital Development Fund employees and nothing was announced for us.
Other HDF employees while speaking said LG Manoj Sinha should intervene to save their futures. They demanded implementation of minimum wages act and incentives on par of permanent employees. They further appealed to LG Sinha for their regularization. Others who were present during protest include Bandhu Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Rakesh Chib, Anju, Patras Goria, Ankush, Pinda Sandhu, Surinder Singh, Ravi Sharma, Ritu sharma, Deepak Sharma, Sonia Bharti, Rekha, and Sudesh.
