Online Covid Care programme commences at GCOE

JAMMU, June 4: A three-day long Online Covid Care programme organized by the NSS unit of Govt College of Education (GCOE), Jammu under the patronage of Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with “The Art of Living” commenced today.
The session was successfully organized by NSS Programme Officer Dr Shubhra Jamwal and NSS volunteers from the college.
Keeping in mind the prevailing conditions, it is really important for students to incorporate proper breathing routines. Hence, NSS team of GCOE took the opportunity wherein students were briefed about breathing exercises and the importance of Asanas , Meditation and Pranayama. Separate techniques for Covid patients with minimal symptoms, patients in isolation and patients who have recovered were discussed and taught. Immunity boosting breathing exercises were demonstrated.
Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal GCOE, inaugurated the programme with an encouraging speech. She highlighted the importance of meditation and pranayama for attaining peace and calm especially during the current pandemic time.
Shruti Dhiman, member of Art of Living, was the Guest speaker and the resource person for the event. She explained how the effective techniques of breathing help in alleviating stress, anxiety and depression and taught basic breathing techniques such as Kapal Bharti, Candle Blow and Bhastrika. Ajay Kapoor, State Coordinator (Art of Living Bureau of Communications, Art of Living VVKI, Projects) was also present on the occasion.
Dr Sandhya Bhardwaj, NSS Coordinator, CLUJ and Dr Sushma Bala from GCOE were also present in the event. The programme was well conducted by Ravinder Kumar, NSS volunteers from GCOE. Priya Chivalry Singh, Sourav Sharma, Aakriti Kaur, Ravinder, Ambica and Suvidha (NSS volunteers from GCOE) contributed in the successful organization of the event.
