AKHNOOR, June 4: Member District Development Council (DDC) Maira Mandrian, Suresh Sharma held a review meeting with the officials of the PDD, Flood Control Department and Irrigation Department at PWD Guest House, Akhnoor. During the meeting, Pt Suresh Sharma said that the coming two months of summer are very crucial, and directed officials of PDD that the defective transformers in villages should be rectified immediately, so that people do not have to face any problem. Apart from this, Sharma told that in the coming days, new transformers would be installed in the villages to overcome problems of low voltage, and wherever there is a need for electric poles and wires, soon poles would be installed, so that the problem of low voltage could be solved and wherever there is a need for electric poles and wires, soon poles would be installed. Sharma while giving instructions to the officials of the Flood Control Department said that in the rainy season, where there is more erosion of the land, work should be started at the earliest so that people's land could be saved. In addition to this he asked Irrigation Department to review functioning of Kathar, Kah, Mini, Manoh, Fanwal and Bal Saroh lift irrigation schemes and said that new works which are kept for above schemes should be done at the earliest following procedures shortly, so that in the coming time water could be easily reached to the lands of the farmers. Executive Engineer Flood Control Ajay Gupta, AEE Irrigation Des Raj, AEE Dev Raj, AEE PDD Shankar Singh Manhas, AE PDD Sudesh Kumar, and other officers of the departments were present in this meeting. |
