NC leader lodges police complaint against DDC member | ‘Merge Marwah with China’ | | eARLY TIMES rePORT
Kishtwar, June 4: Senior Vice –President of National Conference Ghulam Rasool Magrey today lodged a formal police complaint against DDC member Marwah Sheikh Zafrullah for his demand to merge Marwah Sub Division of Kishtwar District with China. As per the details available with Early Times, application for lodging FIR U/S 124-A IPC address to Station House Officer, Police Station Kishtwar under sedition against the DDC member Marwah with the request to book him. The complaint was moved through advocate Nazim Ud Din Qazi in which it was stated that the complainant is the citizen of this UT of Jammu and Kashmir and is socio political activist and senior Vice-President of National Conference, District Kishtwar. It was stated that there is public statement given by DDC Marwah whereby he stated that Marwah sub division be merged with China added that the statement hurts the sentiments of citizens of India and UT and the statement is an attempt to excite dissatisfaction towards the government established by law in India. The statement according to the complaint is a dissatisfaction which includes disloyalty and all feelings of enmity and termed the words spoken by the accused is an attempt to bring into hatred towards the government. It was stated that the accused is liable to be booked under relevant sections of law and the act of the accused is sedition punishable under IPC added that through the mode of present application the complainant seeks lodging of F. I.R against him and be booked accordingly “it is also pertinent to mention here that the brother of the accused is an ex-militant and the act of the accused indicates that he too is following the footsteps of his brother” reads the complaint. “It is, therefore, requested to your goodself to lodge FIR U/S 124-A IPC for sedition against the DDC member Marwah Sheikh Zafrullah and he be booked accordingly” the complaint concluded. Senior officials in the government told the Early Times that the issue is being examined and appropriate necessary action under law will be initiated against the erring DDC member at an appropriate time.
