Pekhri: Covid care center has only 3 beds
6/9/2021 12:14:32 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 8: The Covid Care Centre set up at Pekhri village in Nagrota has only three beds that too were provided by a local sarpanch.
Sarpanch Baldev Raj Sharma while talking to Early Times said, “Soon after LG Sinha announced that the Covid Care Centers should be set up in panchayats, we went ahead. I had three beds which I have put there. The BMO had told us to put the beds till the new ones are purchased, but till date new beds have not reached here ”
He said, “Rs one lakh have already been sanctioned and things are being purchased. We need two more beds and other facilities like electricity, water and oxygen.”
Panch Yashpal Sharma said, “LG Sinha’s initiative is a sincere effort to reach out to the people, but officials are going slow about it.
Our Covid care center has no beds. After 15 days we got one oxygen cylinder.
The beds we have borrowed from villagers are not in a proper condition. We need mattresses, pillows, bed sheets and bed covers, a nurse or a doctor who can attend these patients. How can you expect an Asha worker to inject anyone.”
