MC Kishtwar removes encroachment from footpaths | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, June 23: The Municipal Council Kishtwar led by Khilafwarzi Inspector today launched massive drive to remove encroachment from footpaths and roads by vendors, shopkeepers and Rehriwalas. Naib Tehsildar Javeed Ahmed Khanday also accompanied the team as magistrate while SHO Syed Abid Shah Bukhari provided the security cover to the Kishtwar Municipality officials in removing the encroachment. During two-hour long drive, the team seized various items of the shopkeepers who displayed them on footpaths or roads beside also took strong action against the illegal occupants. Speaking to Early Times, Khilafwarzi Inspector Rakesh Kumar said that the drive was part of the plan to decongest the interior of the city lanes and by-lanes which was encroached by the shopkeepers and vendors added that the drive will remain continue in coming days and warn the shopkeepers, vendors & Rehriwals not to encroach the roads and footpaths. In a question on rise in illegal construction and conversation of residential areas into commercial areas, Khilafwarzi Inspector said that the matter will be looked into in collaboration with the District Administration. |
