| 4 months on, Ration Depot remains closed | | |

Udhampur, June 23: A ration depot in this district has remained closed for the past four months leaving consumers high and dry.
According to the details available with Early Times the ration depot in Ward No. 21 here used to operate near CEO Office from a rented shop, but the owner took his shop back and the concerned authorities failed to find an alternative place for running the depot.
“We are buying rations from another depot which is nearly one and a half kilometers from here,” locals said.
“The Food and Supplies Department has failed to come for our rescue and it seems officials are least bothered about our plight,” they added.
When contacted Assistant Director FCS&CA department Udhampur, Shohab Lateif said that due to non availability of shops on rent the depot is closed.“We will try to find a shop on rent to open the depot,” he maintained. |
