SRINAGAR, June 23: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 96.46 percent as 839 virus affected people recovered in the past 24 hours. The union territory reported 444 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 13,028. Srinagar district reported 98 cases followed by Budgam and Anantnag districts 40 each, Baramulla district 34, Kupwara and Doda districts 25 each, Rajouri district 23, Jammu district 20, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts 19 each, Reasi district 18, Poonch, Bandipora and Reasi districts 17 each, Kulgam district 11, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts nine each, Ramban district eight, Kathua district six and Shopian & Samba districts three cases each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 444 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 138 from Jammu division and 306 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 13,028. Also, four COVID-19 deaths have been reported, two each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Moreover, 39 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 250 from Jammu division and 589 from Kashmir division. One new case of mucormycosis has been reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 26. Besides this, 80.18 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 13,028 positive cases, 6,782 are active positive, 3, 01,973 have recovered and 4,273 have died; 2,079 in Jammu division and 2,194 in Kashmir division. Out of 96, 29,643 test results available, 93, 16,615 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 23, 45,375 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,138 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,782 in isolation and 2, 03,162 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 02,020 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,429 positive cases, 1,179 active positive, 67,427 recovered, 823 deaths; Baramulla has 23,084 positive cases, 498 active positive, 22,310 recovered, 276 deaths; Budgam has 22,397 positive cases, 548 active positive, 21,648 recovered, 201 deaths; Anantnag has 15,900 positive cases, 405 active positive, 15,297 recovered, 198 deaths; Pulwama has 14,747 positive cases, 439 active positive, 14,120 recovered, 188 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,632 positive cases, 480 active positive, 12,991 recovered, 161 deaths; Kulgam has 10,941 positive cases, 271 active positive, 10,556 recovered, 114 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,491 positive cases, 205 active positive, 9,210 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,202 positive cases, 224 active positive, 8,879 recovered, 99 deaths and Shopian has 5,540 positive cases, 28 active positive, 5,454 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,295 positive cases, 750 active positive, 50,418 recovered, 1,127 deaths; Udhampur has 11,104 positive cases, 108 active positive, 10,865 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,617 positive cases, 244 active positive, 10,157 recovered, 216 deaths; Kathua has 9,168 positive cases, 69 active positive, 8,950 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,044 positive cases, 69 active positive, 6,857 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,693 positive cases, 636 active positive, 5,949 recovered, 108 deaths; Poonch has 6,017 positive cases, 271 active positive, 5,659 recovered, 87 deaths; Ramban has 5,759 positive cases, 133 active positive, 5,566 recovered, 60 deaths; Reasi has 5,610 positive cases, 111 active positive, 5,457 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,358 positive cases, 114 active positive, 4,203 recovered, 41 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 13,028 positive cases in J&K, 22,029 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
