KATHUA, June 23: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav today said that the covid risk profile of the Kathua has improved to Green category districts due to the vigorous efforts of the frontline workers of different departments and with the cooperation of the public. He, however, said this position can be maintained only by religiously adhering to the Covid appropriate behavior by all at all times.
He was speaking at the weekly press briefing on Covid-19 scenario in the district, here at the DC Office complex today.
The DC said there is no report of covid death in the last seven days and the recovery rate has touched 97.5% in the district. “This indicates considerable decline in the severity of Covid-19 in Kathua district” he added.
Rahul Yadav said at present Kathua is among the districts with lowest Covid positive cases with only 78 active cases.
He said district administration is enforcing strict adherence of all Covid related SOPs and protocols through enforcement teams as lockdown restrictions have been eased out and maximum commercial establishments are now allowed to operate full week.
While giving details about the vaccination status, the DC said the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide free vaccination for age appropriate eligible is being fast paced with the active participation of PRIs and other stakeholders. He said the district administration is laying focused attention to ramp up the vaccination to achieve inoculation targets within timelines.
