Koshur RAAG honours COVID relief volunteers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 23: Koshur RAAG, a not-for-profit organization in its effort held an online concert to honour and appreciate all those organizations and individuals who were involved in the COVID relief effort ever since the outbreak of the second wave of cataclysmic COVID-19 in India. Amitabh Mattoo, former advisor to Chief Minister, former vice-chancellor, University of Jammu and presently Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi) and professor of international relations at the University of Melbourne (Australia), was the guest of honour. Mattoo in his address said in the space between stimulus and response, lies an opportunity for empathy and grace and this what these selfless volunteers stepped out into the unknown, with a mission to help others and therefore their altruistic efforts must be applauded. He heaped encomiums on the role played by koshurRAAG in raising funds in North America and thereafter provided oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies to patient care, food support and in conducting last rites to the organizations in India, fighting the COVID menace at the frontlines. Khemlata Wakhlu ex-minister of Jammu and Kashmir also acknowledged the efforts of the KoshurRAAG and on the occasion released her latest book titled, “A Kashmiri Century”. |
