Shocking that youth lynched to death by cow vigilantes in Rajouri: Mehbooba | | | Early times report
Srinagar, June 23: Asserting that it is shocking that a 20-year-old youth was lynched to death by cow vigilantes in Rajouri in Jammu region, former chief minister an PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that such things were previously unheard in Jammu and Kashmir. Ms Mehbooba urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure that culprits are punished and the family of the victim is taken care of. “Shocked to know that a 20 yr old man was lynched to death by cow vigilantes in Rajouri. He leaves behind a paralysed father & 3 sisters. Such things were previously unheard of in J&K. Request @manojsinha_ ji to ensure that culprits are punished & his family is taken care of,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. In a shocking incident, a youth, identified as Aijaz Dar, and two other persons were attacked allegedly by ‘cow vigilantes' while they were transporting a buffalo for family use on a load carrier from Laam side near Nowshera in Rajouri. “The trio was injured in the attack,” sources said, adding the wounded were rushed to Government Medical College hospital in Jammu, where Dar succumbed.
