Dr Abdullah continue to discuss centre’s invite for talks with Jammu leaders | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 23: Even though the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) leaders have announced to take part in the All Party Meeting (APM) which will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in New Delhi, National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah continued to discuss the invite with party leaders on Wednesday. Today former Chief Minister Dr Abdullah had a detailed meeting with the leaders from Jammu region, a party spokesman said. He said those who attended the meeting included Provisional President Jammu Devender Singh Raina, Ajay Sadhotra, Sajjad Kitchloo and Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy. NC General secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar was also present during the meeting which was held at the Gupkar residence of Dr Abdullah. Leaders discussed the invitation for APM and expressed their views freely. Dr Abdullah, who is chairman of PAGD, informed the Jammu based leaders about the outcome of the meetings held by him with party functionaries from Kashmir valley and Leh and Kargil districts. The NC is also constituent of the PAGD which has already announced nothing short of restoration of Article 370 and 35 A will be acceptable to alliance. The other members of the PAGD included Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Communist Party of India (M), Awami National Conference (ANC) and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement. Only NC, PDP and CPI(M) have been invited from the PAGD for the meeting.
