'336 teams deployed to inoculate unvaccinated population'

REASI, June 28: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh today said that the current covid scenario in the district is showing encouraging results with 90 percent recovery and 2 percent local positivity rate.
“Considering that Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB)and Vaccination are the only weapons through which Covid can be defeated, district administration has deployed 336 teams to inoculate unvaccinated population and intensified enforcement of Covid safety protocols by putting in scores of enforcement teams on the job” the DC said here at weekly press briefing.
The DC informed that between 21st and 27th June , District Reasi reported 257 positive cases, out of which 218 were travellers/pilgrims. He said local cases are minimal and the overall Recovery rate is above 90% and positivity rate less than 2%. The DC further said that as more and more yatris are visiting Katra the administration is playing a more active role in controlling the spread of virus through proper contact tracing and constitution of special teams to maintain covid appropriate behavior and to deal with the violators.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that vaccination is going on in a mission mode through “Paanch Divasiya Vaccination Abhiyan'' to achieve the target of 100% vaccination of the population in the age group of 45 year and above.
“As part of this vaccination drive , 1384 Officers/Officials have been deputed at 259 villages for door to door vaccination,” he said.
He said the performance of vaccination teams will be monitored from control rooms through GPS so as to achieve the target of 100% vaccination.
“The best performing teams including the volunteers will be rewarded and appreciated by the District administration. Only today Dr Rakesh Raina and Junior staff nurse Manju Devi of District hospital Reasi were awarded for their exemplary work” the DC informed.
The DC appealed to the public to follow covid appropriate behavior, including wearing of masks, sanitization of hands and avoid visiting crowded places.
