SRINAGAR, June 28: COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97 percent as 549 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours or so. The union territory reported 259 new cases following which total number of positive cases reached 3, 14,990; following six fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,310. Srinagar reported 64 new cases followed by Kupwara district 31, Reasi district 29, Pulwama and Kishtwar districts 14 each, Baramulla district 13, Budgam and Rajouri districts 12 each, Anantnag district 11, Bandipora district 10, Doda district nine, Poonch district eight, Ramban district seven, Ganderbal and Kulgam districts six each, Kathua district four, Samba district three and Jammu, Udhampur & Shopian districts two cases each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 259 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 90 from Jammu division and 169 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 14,990. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 549 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 179 from Jammu division and 370 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 83.18 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 14,990 positive cases, 4,996 are active positive, 3, 05,684 have recovered and 4,310 have died; 2,100 in Jammu division and 2,210 in Kashmir division. Out of 98, 58,530 test results available, 95, 43,540 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 03,811 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 18,286 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,996 in isolation and 2, 14,378 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 61,841 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 69,832 positive cases, 948 active positive, 68,057 recovered, 827 deaths; Baramulla has 23,183 positive cases, 259 active positive, 22,646 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,507 positive cases, 302 active positive, 22,001 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,018 positive cases, 316 active positive, 15,503 recovered, 199 deaths; Pulwama has 14,849 positive cases, 227 active positive, 14,432 recovered, 190 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,765 positive cases, 331 active positive, 13,271 recovered, 163 deaths; Kulgam has 11,016 positive cases, 210 active positive, 10,691 recovered, 115 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,567 positive cases, 192 active positive, 9,299 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,279 positive cases, 172 active positive, 9,007 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,549 positive cases, 19 active positive, 5,472 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,361 positive cases, 626 active positive, 50,602 recovered, 1,133 deaths; Udhampur has 11,149 positive cases, 93 active positive, 10,925 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,686 positive cases, 181 active positive, 10,286 recovered, 219 deaths; Kathua has 9,202 positive cases, 48 active positive, 9,005 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,058 positive cases, 34 active positive, 6,906 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,777 positive cases, 273 active positive, 6,392 recovered, 112 deaths; Poonch has 6,074 positive cases, 234 active positive, 5,750 recovered, 90 deaths; Reasi has 5,864 positive cases, 305 active positive, 5,516 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,819 positive cases, 102 active positive, 5,654 recovered, 63 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,435 positive cases, 124 active positive, 4,269 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 14,990 positive cases in J&K, 22,305 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
