Traffic Police Jammu Rural launches drive against violators

JAMMU, June 28: In order to curb the menace of traffic violations, Traffic Police Rural Jammu under the overall supervision of Mohan Lal Kaith, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu along with, Aftab Hussain Shah, Dy. SP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch and other subordinate Traffic Police officers launched joint special drive in the area of District Rajouri and Poonch on 26, 27, 28-06-2021 against the Traffic violators particularly who were indulging in visible offences. During the special drive, 590 vehicles were challaned and fine to the tune of Rs.2,70,000/- has been imposed on the violators, as per the New Motor Vehicle Act. Moreover, 155 vehicles were also seized during the special drive.
Besides, a number of vehicles have been booked under various visible offences like driving without DL, use of Mobile phone while driving, without crash helmet, overloading, triple riding, over speeding etc. in which innocent human lives are directly involved. Moreover, all the field officers have been directed for having zero tolerance for the violators indulging in without wearing crash helmet, rash driving, without seat belt, minor driving, overloading pillion riders not wearing helmet as well as other visible offences.
Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu has stressed upon the traffic cops to ensure proper discipline, accountability and transparency in traffic management system, so that the violators could be dealt with iron hands under the provisions of new Motor Vehicle Act. The officers have been further directed to ensure wearing of body worn camera while challaning and special stress be given towards the visible offences. The challaning officers shall also ensure the use of Noise Pollution Device, speed radar guns while challaning the vehicles and also stressed on booking maximum number of e-challan so that transformation from manual system of challaning to digital system of challaning could be completed at an earliest. During the visit he also aware the drivers to follow the Covid-19 SOP Strictly and only 50% of the passengers be allowed in the vehicles and all the passengers should wear the face mask.
Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu further stressed upon the violators to keep all the documents of their respective vehicles along with and get the same check at Traffic checking point/nakas and requested the owners of the vehicles, transporters and agents to extend their full co-operation to the traffic cops, so that a proper check over the violators is maintained. He further stressed pillion riders ridding on two wheelers that they shall also wear crash helmet and persons accompany the driver of four wheelers sitting on front seat shall also wear seat belt for their safety. The general public, as a whole has to participate in this process and to take responsibility for hassle free movement of vehicles. Moreover, he stressed the general public to get the vehicle register having outside number. He further said that the enforcement drive will go more stringent in the coming days and the violators will be dealt with an iron hand.
