Jammu, June 28: Dy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Purnima Sharma today chaired a review meeting in the councilor meeting hall of JMC along with chairman, Public Health Sanitation Standing Committee Narinder Singh, Swachh Bharat Standing Committee Yashpal Sharma, Ajit Singh JC(W) Jammu Municipal Corporation, Xen Jal Shakti Department (PHE) RK. Rakwal, Xen (PDD), Sanjeev Mohan and JE’s of the concerned Department
A threadbare discussion on the redressal of burning issues of general public were discussed and Dy.Mayor, JMC issued instructions to the Xen, PDD and Xen, PHE, Jal Shakti Department that AEE’s / JE’s under their control be directed to attend the phone calls of Hon’ble Councillors for public importance matter. Dy. Mayor, JMC also issued instructions to the Xen, PHE that leakages of water pipes be immediately plugged with proper lead. Water pipes passing through drains be replaced especially in old city areas, new tube wells be installed/constructed to cope up with shortage of drinking water, damaged/ defunct over head tank to be dismantled/removed and damaged water pipes lying within the limits of JMC be replaced. A pre-preparation should be prepared for the upcoming rainy season. The contractor work should be divided into different parts so that the work should be completed in the time bound manner.
There should be a proper timing of the water comes out in the wards. No diversion of the phone calls of the Xen of the concerned department in the working hours. Action should be taken against the illegal connections. Replacement of the old pipes should be done on priority basis Xen, PHE and PDD assured the Dy. Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation that every possible steps to be taken for redressal of the genuine demands of the general public and necessary instructions be issued to the staff to take the issues of Councillors on priority basis.
