Srinagar, June 28: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander in the summer capital, Srinagar. Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar termed the arrest of the LeT commander, identified as Nadeem Abrar, as a big success for security forces. A police official said that following specific information above movement of militants, a vehicle was intercepted at Parimpora in Srinagar outskirts on Monday afternoon. “Abrar, who was trying to get into the city, was arrested by police,” he said. He said Abrar was active from the last several years and was involved in many killings. “He was involved in carrying out attacks on security forces along Srinagar-Baramulla border,” the official said. “Top LeT commander Nadeem Abrar arrested. He was involved in several killings. Big success for us,” the IGP Kashmir wrote on twitter. |
