Drone Threat
6/30/2021 11:35:38 PM
The drones hovering over vital security installations in Jammu region for the past three days has brought to fore one more challenge that the security agencies can face in coming days, it’s a technological threat.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started investigations. The initial findings have pointed out that these unmanned vehicles are being handled from across the Line of Control and militant outfit LeT could be behind the drone attacks that took place in Jammu earlier this week.
Recent developments are an indication that the militant handlers across the Line of Control (LoC) are not sitting idle and they could be planning something big.
Prior to these drone attacks, the security agencies had sounded an alert about the Unmanned Vehicles being used to drop weapons and drugs near the LoC. It appears that the militants are planning to introduce drones to keep the militancy alive in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the past two years security forces have broken the back of militants in J&K as the top leaders of almost all the militant outfits have been eliminated. Militancy has almost been wiped out from J&K. The crackdown against the Over Ground Workers (OGWs) has hit the militants hard as their supply lines have been choked. The security forces have an upper hand and militants are on the run.
It appears that the disruptive elements sitting across the LoC have introduced drones to inflict damage without being hit. But it seems that they are unaware about the fact that India’s technology is far better than them.
At present security agencies are focusing on detecting the locations of drone handlers and as soon as their position is known they will be paid back in the same manner.
For the past few months, India and Pakistan armies have been adhering to the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) but the past experiences are too bitter for India. Pakistan has always backstabbed India in the past and this fact cannot be overlooked.
Drones hovering over vital security installations in Jammu can be a part of a bigger plan as one can expect anything from the people sitting across the LoC. The security agencies cannot take chances. Nefarious designs of the adversary have to be nipped in the bud.
