KATHUA, June 30: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav today said that the Covid Recovery Rate in Kathua has touched 98% and the overall Covid Scenario has further improved in the last few weeks in the district.
He said this while interacting with media persons during a weekly press briefing held at the DC office complex.
He said the continuous declining trend of Covid positive cases has provided a good preparatory time for speeding up Vaccination efforts in the district. “Health teams with the active participation of the stakeholders are reaching out to the remote areas to cover age appropriate vaccination eligible persons of the district. So far 81% percent of the population in the 45 year and above age group has been vaccinated, while inoculation drive for the 18-44 yr category has been further intensified in the last few days,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of Vaccination and terming it as a potent tool in the fight against Covid-19, the DC appealed to the people especially 18+ to visit the nearest Vaccination centre to take vaccine doses.
The DC informed that Hiranagar medical Block has taken the lead by achieving 100% inoculation of 45 year and above age group.
Rahul Yadav said that members of PRI’s and civil society have been roped in for achieving 100% vaccination in Panchayats especially in low scoring Bani and Billawar medical Block.
