Sainik Welfare Department establishes Zila Sainik Welfare office in Akhnoor

Jammu, June 30: Sainik Welfare Department ( J&k)has resolved to reach out to ESM Veer Naris and to provide various services as far forward as possible.
Accordingly ZSWO has been made operational at Akhnoor so that the valiant veterans or Veer Naris from border areas of Pallanwala, Khour and Jourian don’t have to travel long distance to Jammu to avail benefits which are due to them in honour of their services to the nation.
The ZSWO at Akhnoor was dedicated to the ESM and Veer Naris by Maj. Gen Rajiv Gadihoke, GOC Inf Div on 30 Jun 2021 in the presence of a selected gathering of Veterans, Veer Naris and Staff of Sainik Welfare Department.
During his address the Director Sainik Welfare Department ( J&K) Brig Gurmeet Singh Shan recalled the heroic deeds of the soldier of Akhnoor region and paid his respect to the heroes. The Director also thanked the Indian Army and the Civil Administration for their support for the operationalization of ZSWO Akhnoor. The future plan regarding welfare of the veterans’ fraternity was also highlighted in brief by the Director.
Speaking on the Maj. Gen Rajiv Gadihoke, GOC 10 Inf Div appreciated the steps taken by the Sainik Welfare Department to reach out the ESM and Veer Naris. The GOC also assured full support to the ZSWO for addressing various issues for the welfare of ESM, Veer Naris and their dependents in the region.
