Jammu, June 30: A shanty of a nomad family was reduced to ashes in a fire in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Wednesday. According to police, the fire had broken out on Tuesday night in traditional kullah (hutment) of a Gujjar (nomad) family in Muggar Khad area. “It was a four-room accommodation out of which two rooms were completely burnt in the fire,” said police. On getting the information, a fire tender was immediately pressed into service to control the blaze. “Two rooms have completely gutted and some household items were also destroyed,” said a local. Meanwhile, police added that no injury was reported in the incident. |
