Mayor, others lay foundation stone of charging station for e-rickshaws in Jammu city

Jammu, June 30: Continuing his drive to provide better civic & development activities for the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC in presence of Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Yash Pal Sharma Chairman Swacch Bharat committee, Kuldeep Singh Chairman Social Justice Committee, Amit Gupta Councillor of ward no. 19 today on 30/06/2021 laid foundation stone of the prestigious project of establishment of charging station for E-Rickshaws at Municipal land Dogra Chowk near Jewel, Jammu.
Anil Gupta Executive Engineer, Neeraj Vaid Assistant Executive Engineer, K. K. Bali Junior Engineer & other Supervisory Staff of Project Division JMC, Talat Mahmood I/c Chief Transport Officer alongwith field staff of Transport Wing & prominent citizens of ward no. 19 were remained present there during the programme which was held in a very simple manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that under “Swacch Bharat Mission” JMC has initiated number of steps to keep Jammu City neat, clean & green from the last three years with the active support of all the councilors of JMC after they elected by the public and carrying it forward the foundation stone of much needed project for charging E-Rickshaws has been laid today which is first of its kind in Jammu City with an estimate cost of Rs 22 lacs only & it will be completed within three months of time period.
He further told that about thirty numbers of E-Rickshaws will be engaged for garbage collection in the first phase especially in the different wards of the old city for providing better sanitation facilities to the citizens & it will also help in keeping the environment pollution free which is the need of the hour. He added that more such type of charging stations will also be installed in other zones of the city in near future shortly.
Later, Mayor along with Rajinder Singh Jamwal Councillor of ward no. 39, Sh. Prabhat Singh Jamwal senior BJP leader Balwant Singh & other prominent inhabitants of the ward as well as S. Kamal Pal Singh, Junior Engineer PWD also conducted tour of the ward & kick started the remaining work of blacktopping of roads & nearby lanes at Shanti Nagar near employment exchange office on the request of the locals which was their long pending demands as due to deteriorated condition of the roads, they were suffering great hardships while passing through the area & thanked the Mayor for starting the macadamize work.
