Medical Oxygen Generation Plants under PMCARES provided to Lakshwadeep | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 30: In COVID Pandemic times, uninterrupted oxygen supply by transportation of oxygen cylinders in Lakshadweep were a major area of concern of the UT administration. In Lakshadweep, oxygen has been provided to the patients through concentrators and cylinders for which it was compelled to send cylinders to Kochi by ships for refueling and dependence on mainland is indispensable. Under the leadership of Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and efforts of administrators of Lakshadweep Praful Patel, the UT has been allotted two Medical Oxygen Generation Plants under PMCARES which will be installed in the Islands of Kavaratti and Agatti shortly. Three more islands namely Andrott, Amini and Minicoy are getting three Oxygen plants through CSR funds offered by corporate firms in Gujarat and Maharashtra for which the works have already started. It is heartening to know that by the constant hard work of the Administrator of UT of Lakshadweep and UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, installation of an additional Medical Oxygen Generation Plant in the farthest Island of Lakshadweep, Minicoy has become a reality.
